What Is Hot Shot Trucking?
Hot shot trucking refers to hauling smaller, time-sensitive loads using a pickup truck and gooseneck or flatbed trailer rather than a full semi-truck. Hot shot drivers often work as independent owner-operators — setting their own schedule, choosing their loads, and building their own business. It’s a lower barrier to entry than traditional trucking and a growing niche with strong demand.
