Class Schedule & Training Calendar
New Classes Start Every Week
Diamond 7 CDL Academy welcomes new students every week throughout the year, with the exception of observed holidays. You don’t have to wait for the next semester — if you’re ready, we’re ready.
Daily Class Times
- Day Classes: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (10-minute break every hour)
- Evening Classes: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM (10-minute break every hour)
Weekend behind-the-wheel sessions are available for certain programs, including Hot Shot training (offered on the second and fourth weekends of the month).
How Your Training Works
First 40 Hours — ELDT Theory
All CDL programs begin with 40 hours of Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) theory, which can be completed online through CDL Powersuite — at home, at our facility, or self-paced with instructor support available. This is a federal FMCSA requirement for all new CDL applicants.
Your Theory Learning Options
- Hybrid: Complete coursework at home or at our facility on your schedule
- Classroom: Attend in-person at our Dallas campus, Monday–Friday
- Self-Paced: Work at your own speed with instructor support available upon request
Behind-the-Wheel Training
After completing your theory requirements, you move to hands-on training at our range and on public roads. Training includes daily pre-trip inspections, backing maneuvers (offset, parallel, straight-line), bobtail training, and progressive road training building up to full CDL test readiness.
Observed Holidays — No Classes
Diamond 7 observes the following holidays. No classes are held on these dates:
